What a year it’s been! When we come to the end of a year, we usually like to take a look back at everything we were able to participate in and do that year. This year was a little bit different!
The Aurora Chamber Festival scheduled for June was cancelled, as expected. In October, the Canadian Urban Forestry Conference was scheduled to be held in Charlottetown, PEI. We and many others had been looking forward to this conference for quite a while. It has been rescheduled to October 2022 for now.
We were able to participate in the Ontario Urban Forest Annual Summit in November virtually. So many people worked very hard to change this event from in-person to fully virtual so we could still come together and discuss issues pertaining to the urban forest. The topic was “Cultivating and Protecting our Green Legacy”. Check out some of the presentations on the OUFC website! Thank you to the OUFC and organizers for pulling this event together so well.
Creating arborist reports and performing various tree assessments can luckily be done well within social distancing rules. Having an independent Certified Arborist means there doesn’t need to be close contact with anyone! We also gained new experience (perhaps too much experience) with Zoom meetings for things like expert witness testimony and report presentations.
We can’t wait to see what our roundup of 2021 looks like next year.
Thank you to all our clients who supported us this year. We look forward to working with you again in the new year.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in 2021 and stay safe!
