Comfort Maple

The Comfort Maple, located in the Niagara Region in Pelham, Ontario, is believed to be the oldest sugar maple in Canada. It’s estimated to be over 500 years old. The circumference of the trunk is a staggering 6 metres and it’s 24 metres tall.

While it has beautiful leaves during the spring, summer, and fall, in the winter, it’s easy to see the age of this old tree. It’s been repaired many times over the years with wires and even with bricks. We need to work hard to conserve trees so that many in the future can live as long and grow as beautifully as the Comfort Maple.
